Umag

The westernmost point of the country - Umag, located in Istria - offers travelers a successful symbiosis of a beach holiday and an interesting excursion program. Back in the days of the Roman Empire, there was a port city in the harbor of the Adriatic Sea, which later belonged to Byzantium, Italy, Austria and Yugoslavia. The result is a multinational population and historical monuments representing different eras. The proximity to Venice (50 miles) makes it possible to take a day trip to the city of canals.

Stretching for 45 km, the rocky coast of Umag cannot boast of convenient beaches, the vast majority of which are covered with concrete platforms. However, this does not prevent you from exploring the wonderful world of Neptune or cutting through the water on a shortboard. As the sun sets, life at the resort continues. The embankment and the old town invite you to take a romantic walk, and discos offer you to immerse yourself in an atmosphere of fun and carefree.

You can familiarize yourself with options for tours for two to Opatija.

Hello, friends! Our article today will be devoted to Croatia, and specifically to those cities and resorts of this wonderful country where you can go on vacation with your child.

Tourism in Croatia is mainly relaxation and quite expensive (when compared with Montenegro). There are few resorts and entertainment venues where discos thunder all night long.

The main resort and tourist regions of the country are the Istrian Peninsula and the Kvarner Bay with its coastal strip separating it from the mainland, Central and Southern Dalmatia.

Istria and the Kvarner coast

This is a well-known tourist region with many ancient towns perched on the hills, with an abundance of ancient pine trees, deciduous forests, Mediterranean vegetation, with a rocky coastline, concrete piers extending far into the sea, a mild climate, clear sea and excellent cuisine. Not far from Istria there is a popular Croatian attraction - Plitvice Lakes.

The main cities in the region are Rovinj, Porec, Medulin, Umag, Vrsar, Novigrad, Pula, Rabac, Lovran, Opatija, the islands of Krk, Losinj, Cres, Rab, Pag and Brijuni.

The beaches in this region are predominantly rocky natural plateaus and stones, concrete artificial platforms, as well as small lagoons with pebbles.

The disadvantages of the region are a large number of tourists during the season and the beaches are not as comfortable as in Central Dalmatia.

By the way, Istria is located not far from Italy. And this is a convenient opportunity to visit there while vacationing in Croatia. Venice can be reached by sea from the city of Pula, where the airport is located, in 3.5 hours.

Resorts of Istria

Rovinj- a fashionable resort on the Adriatic and one of the most charming medieval towns in the province of Istria with Venetian houses and old cobbled streets.

There are a lot of beaches here, but they are all rocks, pebbles and concrete platforms. The sea is crystal clear, the climate is mild Mediterranean. In the surrounding area there are 22 islands, the most picturesque and largest of which are the islands of St. Catherine and St. Andrew.

Porec- a resort with clear water in lagoons, with numerous beaches, a beautiful promenade, ancient groves and medieval buildings. It is considered the most party place on the Istrian peninsula, and its hotels are the best on the coast.

The beaches are predominantly rocky plateaus and concrete platforms. Distance from Pula airport – 60 km.

So that children do not get bored in Croatian Porec and get the most out of a joint holiday with their parents at this resort, in addition to the warm sea, they need active recreation and age-appropriate entertainment.

And since the beaches of Porec are not an ideal option (pebble bottom and descent into the water on stone slabs), you can take the children by ferry to the island of St. Nicholas (20 minutes on the way). Its cozy beaches are much more pleasant for swimming and sunbathing. At the same time, you can explore an ancient castle, a lighthouse, and take a walk in a fairly dense forest, where, among other forest animals, you can even find peacocks.

And if you visit the Baredine cave, you can admire stalagmites, stalactites and a 60-meter underground lake with unique amphibians living in it.

Resort Umag popular among fans of various sports. There are plenty of tennis courts, basketball courts and mini golf. There is an equestrian center. The beaches here are mostly rocky.

Medulin- a resort located in the Medulin Bay in the south of the Istrian Peninsula (11 km from Pula). The beaches at this resort are varied: concrete platforms, pebbles and even sandy ones. Young people who play sports like to relax here.

A small village suitable for a family holiday Novigrad with gently sloping pebble beaches, so rare in this region.

Families with children also like to relax in a resort town surrounded by greenery. Rabac, descending to the sea in terraces. The beaches here are small, cozy, with large and small pebbles.

Krk Island with stunningly beautiful nature and a mild Mediterranean climate, it is connected to the mainland by a road bridge, which can be considered a tourist attraction. The beaches on the island are sand and pebble, with a good entrance to the sea.

There are ancient monasteries, medieval fortified cities, karst caves, and vineyards. The shores are a fancifully indented line, due to which many small bays protected from the wind are formed with cozy beaches, among which there are even sandy ones.

The resorts of the island of Krka (the town of Malinska, Halkdovo) with developed children's infrastructure (special beaches, slides, playgrounds) are good for family holidays.

Another plus of this resort is the delicious local cuisine in family taverns.

Of the minuses, perhaps, we can note the short swimming season - only 3 summer months.

Central Dalmatia

Central Dalmatia is a large part of the mainland, the center of the Adriatic coast and many islands (the most famous are Brac and Hvar).

The main resorts of sunny Dalmatia with a mild climate, with healing sea water containing beneficial microelements and salts: Split, Sibenik, Vodice, Trogir, Primosten, Baska Voda, Brela, Podgora, Tucepi, the islands of Brac and Hvar.

Here, in the valley of the Krka River, is the Krka National Park, and not far from Sibenik and the city of Zadar is the Kornati Park.

The beaches of Central Dalmatia are the best on the coast. Small pebbles, pine trees near the water and a mild climate attract families with children to local resorts.

Resorts of Central Dalmatia

Makarska Riviera- a region of Central Dalmatia beloved by tourists, stretching for tens of kilometers along the coast at the base of the beautiful Biokovo mountains. Here are the best beaches and resorts in Croatia for family holidays: Baska Voda, Makarska, Brela, Tucepi.

The beach here is long, small-pebble, with an easy entrance. The resort has several hotels with swimming pools, children's animation and affordable prices.

Baska Voda– another cozy resort town on the Makarska Riviera (located 75 km from the airport, 60 km from Split). Its advantage is small pebble and even sandy beaches, which are very rare to find in Croatia.

Brela is a small resort famous for its long Punta Rata beach and the cleanest sea on the Adriatic. Its peculiarity is pine trees growing almost at the surf line and small pebbles.

There are two more resort regions in Central Dalmatia: Sibenik region with the resorts Sibenik, Vodice, Primosten and Split region with the resorts of Trogir, Split, Podgora and the islands of Hvar and Brac.

Sibenik– by Croatian standards the city is quite large and beautiful. Tourists come here for the sights (3 national parks, more than ten temples and ancient cathedrals with unusual roofs and facades, the Cathedral of St. James).

You can get here from Split and Dubrovnik airports.

A few kilometers from the city, the city's small-pebble, rocky beaches and beach hotels begin. Cons: few good sandy beaches.

Vodice– a very green resort town with tangerine and olive gardens. It stretches along the sea with a coastal strip of 12 km. Beaches are small pebbles. It is characterized by a developed resort infrastructure and the availability of evening entertainment.

Cozy and quiet resort Primosten suitable for a leisurely holiday. It is located on the Raducha Peninsula (60 km from Split). Beaches are small areas covered with pebbles, but mostly they are rocky platforms. The water is very clean and transparent.

Split– a seaport and the largest city in the country, located between southern Dubrovnik and Zadar. It conditionally divides Dalmatia into two parts. The airport is located 25 km from the city.

There are good beaches here - small pebbles and pebbles with a gentle entrance into the clear, bright turquoise sea. The climate is Mediterranean, mild. Pine trees grow near the water.

At this resort you can see unique architectural monuments of various architectural styles and historical sites. Its historical center with its main attraction - the ruins of Diocletian's Palace - is included in the UNESCO list.

From the sea, Split is surrounded by the islands: Brac, Vis, Drvenik, Hvar, Solta, Biševo, with which it is connected by ferry service. Visiting them will help you better understand the original Croatia.

Trogir- a small but very interesting town 27 kilometers from Split. Its uniqueness is that the historical part of the town is located on an island (included in the UNESCO list), which is connected by a bridge to the island of Ciovo on one side, and on the other is connected by a bridge to the mainland.

There are no beaches in the city itself, but there is a port. You can get to the swimming areas on foot, by water, by bus or taxi. The beaches are pebble, and sea urchins are often found.

Podgora– the most cozy resort town in Central Dalmatia with pine forests, Mediterranean vegetation, olive gardens, and excellent small-pebble beaches. This resort can be included in the list of places for family holidays in Croatia.

Brac- one of the large islands of the Adriatic Sea (its length is 40 km, width is 12 km), covered with lavender fields, pine forests, olive and grape groves.

From Split you can get to the island by ferry in an hour. You can stay here for a couple of days. The reward will be the best beaches in Croatia (small pebbles and sand) and an interesting educational program.

There are two resort towns on the island - Bol and Supetar. Near Bol (the tourist center of the Adriatic) there is the famous Golden Cape beach.

Brac is good for a relaxing family holiday without the hustle and bustle of city noise.

One of the downsides is that you can only get to the island by taking a ferry.

Hvar- the sunniest and longest island of the Adriatic with small medieval islands, stunning aromas of lavender and rosemary, lush subtropical vegetation, with sandy, small-pebble and pebble beaches.

The main resort of the island is Jelsa (port town) with beautiful sandy beaches, the sandy bay of Milna and the Soline thermal spa on the Glavica peninsula.

The island of Hvar, with its excellent climate and relaxed, secluded atmosphere, is more suitable for nightlife lovers and young people.

South Dalmatia

This is a land of mountains and islands with the most famous wines and the best oysters. The beaches here are rocky, pebble and concrete. There are also sandy ones in the Dubrovnik area on the islands.

The coastal part of Dalmatia is stunningly picturesque thanks to the forests and ridges of the magnificent Dinaric Mountains stretching along the coast for hundreds of kilometers.

Resorts in the region: Neum, Dubrovnik, Cavtat, Plat, Slano, Mlini and the islands closest to Dubrovnik - Korcula, Kolocep and Mljet.

Resorts of South Dalmatia

Dubrovnik– “the pearl of the Adriatic”, the most beautiful city in Europe according to UNESCO, which you should definitely visit. You can’t really sunbathe here on the sand, because the city is interesting primarily as a unique attraction.

It is famous for its excellent ecology and climate, clean sea, bays, many hotels and restaurants, perfectly preserved medieval architecture, and ancient ruins.

The beaches are mostly concrete platforms, pebbly, stony and rocky. And this is certainly a minus for children's holidays. In addition, it can be especially hot here in the summer months.

Picturesque resort Cavtat- an old, like a “toy” town with paths for walking along the sea, with Mediterranean nature, with well-groomed pebble beaches. There are areas with a sandy beach, bordered by thickets of cypresses and pine trees, which is extremely rare to see in Croatia.

Kolocep Island with two small villages located almost next to each other (they are separated by a distance of 3 km), it is famous for its impeccably clean air. Hotels are represented on the island by a single hotel and a sandy beach opposite.

Korcula Island is a large and very beautiful Adriatic island with Mediterranean vegetation and centuries-old pine trees completely covering the island, with beaches in quiet bays covered with pebbles and sand. In addition, the island is the birthplace of the traveler Marco Polo, which, by the way, the Croatians are incredibly proud of.

The resort is suitable for a relaxing holiday in silence and privacy.

Here you can visit the vineyards and get acquainted with the technology of wine production. In the summer, knightly costume performances are held on the island.

Korcula is the main island city, famous for its city wall and the house museum of Marco Polo.

The downside is that the mistral wind often blows, which, however, is very popular with surfers.

For the most part Mljet Islands there is a protected reserve with small bays, beautiful beaches, and quiet walking paths.

Beaches on the island of pebbles and sand in a sheltered bay with natural shade from nearby coniferous trees. You can also swim in the local salt lakes.

By the way, on many islands car traffic is prohibited in order to preserve their ecology. But the Croatians themselves prefer to relax on the islands, leaving seaside coastal resorts to tourists.

The country is very rich in natural attractions that are protected by the state. Among them are well-known Plitvice Lakes. This is an unforgettable place consisting of 16 lakes and 92 magnificent waterfalls. The canyons of the Paklenica National Park are also worth visiting.

For lovers of historical places, the city will be a pleasant discovery... read more

There are several reasons for this:
- firstly, it is a gentle sea, magnificent beaches, clean air and delightful pine forests among the rocks;
- secondly, here you can perfectly combine the beach air with educational excursions to numerous historical and natural attractions;
- thirdly, you can fly from the European part of Russia to Croatia in just three hours, which is very important if you are going on vacation with children. Such a journey will not tire them at all.
Prices for accommodation and services are quite reasonable, so a holiday in this wonderful country with a fairly developed tourism infrastructure will not cost too much. There are many well-known and still developing resorts in Croatia, from which you can choose a place for a vacation that suits your taste and budget.

The best resorts in Croatia

Thanks to the mild climate, the beach season in Croatia opens already in the first ten days of May, and ends only in mid-October, reaching its peak in July-August. At this time, the water in the Adriatic Sea warms up to a very comfortable +26 C, and the ambient air temperature on the coast ranges from +26 to +29 C. The tourism sector is most developed in four regions, and this is where the most popular resort centers are located. Each of them has its own flavor and is especially conducive to certain types of recreation:
- Istria is famous for its unique microclimate, which has a positive effect on human health. The purest air of coniferous forests, mixed with ion-rich air masses from the Adriatic, has a healing effect and revitalizes the body. Truly this is a great place for a family holiday with children.
- the highlight of Central Dalmatia are the unique beaches located on numerous picturesque islands that are scattered along the entire coast. They are covered with very small pebbles and washed by clean and clear sea water.
- Southern Dalmatia, characterized by a large number of sunny days, will be especially interesting for tourists who prefer a versatile holiday. There is everything here to combine swimming and sunbathing with a rich excursion program.
- Tourists are attracted to Northern Dalmatia by its unique nature. This region has a well-developed beach infrastructure and all the conditions have been created to ensure that every day of your vacation is filled with a variety of entertainment.
To ensure that your holiday in Croatia does not disappoint your expectations, it is worth learning more about the local resorts in order to choose the most suitable place, based on your own preferences.

Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik, with about 1,300 years of history, is considered to be the resort pearl of Croatia. It is located in a unique location in Southern Dalmatia, which is also called the Croatian Riviera. The most popular establishments are Latino Club, Buza and Nonenina. Troubadour Jazz Cafe invites you to listen to live jazz music.
Dubrovnik will provide a lot of entertainment for young travelers. In an ancient castle, not far from the city center, there is a city aquarium, which contains hundreds of species of inhabitants of the deep sea. Here you can see colorful fish that have chosen coral reefs, seahorses, octopuses, lobsters and other amazingly beautiful representatives of underwater fauna and flora. An excursion to the Maritime Museum, which has an excellent collection of exhibits, will be of no less interest to the child. The largest entertainment complex SvetaAna, which occupies an area of several hectares, has play areas for children of different ages, a lot of attractions and trampolines, and a riding school. Honey Valley Park offers a variety of outdoor activities.
Attractions
The main attraction of Dubrovnik is the historical city center of Gradske Zidine, located on a high cliff, surrounded by a fortress wall built in the 12th century. Here you can wander through the narrow medieval streets paved with stone, where any building is imbued with the atmosphere of the leisurely Middle Ages. Small bistros, of which there are many here, invite you to relax during the excursion and have a snack.

Hvar Island

The blessed island with its amazing landscape and colorful nature has long attracted people who began to settle here five thousand years ago. Cozy towns that have preserved the spirit of the Middle Ages, picturesque coves and, it seems, everything around is saturated with the smell of lavender, which grows everywhere here. The mild climate creates excellent conditions for the growth of subtropical plants, which fill the local air with unique aromas. Thanks to this, thousands of tourists from different European countries seek to relax on this unique island.
Infrastructure
The most popular beaches among vacationers are Milna and Dubovica, covered with small pebbles. The first of them is located four kilometers from the town of Hvar. In fact, these are four cozy lagoons, one after the other, surrounded by pine groves, luxurious gardens of fruit trees and vineyards. Dubovica is located a few kilometers south. It is an elongated lagoon with a gentle entrance to the water, which is very transparent here. Both beaches are equipped with all necessary accessories. There are cafes and bars nearby that offer a delicious lunch. Zarache Beach is considered a good place for secluded swimming and sunbathing between picturesque rocky cliffs.
Entertainment
Vacationers on the island have all the opportunities for sports and active pastime. For lovers of underwater travel, the excellent Viking diving center will offer its services. Here you can not only rent the necessary equipment, but also begin to learn the basics of craftsmanship in a special school. For tourists, horseback riding and walking tours are organized in the most picturesque places that abound on the island. Nightlife is concentrated in the town of Hvar. There are several good quality clubs operating here, among which Central Park is worth highlighting. You can have a great time at the Falko Bar and the Carpe Diem Beach Club.
Even though there are no large entertainment centers on the island, children will find it no less interesting here than adults. Its main advantage is its stunning nature. Take a water taxi or boat trip with your child to admire the beauty of the Blue and Green Caves. An excursion to the medieval fortress of Spanjola will leave wonderful impressions on everyone in the family. From its walls, located on top of a high rock, a unique view of the sea and the island of Pakleni opens. In the evening, you can stroll along the embankment and feed crumbs of bread to the ducks and seabirds that have chosen the local shores.
Attractions
The main attractions of the island are concentrated in Hvar. Undoubtedly, it is worth visiting St. Stephen's Cathedral, which dominates the central square. The building, erected in the middle of the 17th century, is made in the traditions of the Renaissance, characteristic of the architecture of Dalmatia at that time. The nearby Bishop's Palace houses a wonderful museum with unique items of church utensils in its collection. An excursion to the town of Stari Grad, which is essentially an open-air museum, will be very informative and interesting. Many buildings of medieval architecture and ruins dating back to the times of Roman rule have been preserved here.

Brac Island

On Brac, one of the most beautiful Croatian islands, the proud Romans loved to relax, the wealthiest of whom had their own villas here. Nature generously endowed this land, surrounded by the turquoise waves of the gentle Adriatic Sea. The trees here have magnificent crowns, the plants are fragrant, and even the massive rocks do not look harsh at all. The fresh sea breeze makes the hottest summer day comfortable.
Infrastructure
There are two popular resort centers on the island - Supetar and Bol. They have developed hotel chains and other tourism infrastructure. In the vicinity of Bol there is the Zlatni Rat beach, considered one of the best in the state. It is located on a cape protruding 300 m into the sea, covered with small pebbles, which is interesting because it constantly changes its configuration under the pressure of wind and waves. However, it is better not to come here with children, since half of the coast surrounded by pine trees is “occupied” by nudists.
Entertainment
The wind rose on the island is favorable for windsurfing, and for tennis players it is a paradise, since they have about 20 clay courts at their disposal. Several diving centers offer rental of all necessary equipment, and there is a spearfishing school. Climbers will have to go along one of hundreds of routes of varying difficulty. The largest discotheque is located in Bol. There, as in the largest city of the island, Supetar, there are many smaller, but no less interesting and colorful establishments, where the fun does not subside until the morning.
We haven't forgotten about entertainment for children either. Most beaches have special playgrounds that will be of interest to children of different ages and a variety of attractions. The whole family will have an unforgettable experience from a trip to the highest point of the Adriatic - Vidova Gora. At its top there are observation platforms that offer unforgettable views of the magnificent landscapes. In the resort village of Sutivan, you can rent a yacht or take part in an exciting boat excursion around the small islands located nearby.
Attractions
The main attraction of Brac, which cannot be missed, is the village-museum Škrip. It has preserved many ancient mansions, small palaces and religious buildings. The collection of the local archaeological museum includes various artifacts from Antiquity and the Middle Ages, found on the island during excavations. Another iconic historical monument, the Dragon Cave, is located in the southern part. Scientists are still arguing about its purpose. The inside walls of the cave cavity are painted with drawings and intricate symbols, the meaning of which is unknown to science.

Porec

Porec stands out among the most visited resorts in Croatia. It is located in Istria and occupies a 25-kilometer stretch of coastline with intricately rugged contours. Throughout the entire beach season it is extremely crowded, noisy and a lot of fun. Small cafes on the city embankment are always filled with tourists, and the bustling life never ceases to be in full swing even at night.
Infrastructure
Local beaches stretch for many kilometers, successively replacing each other. Some of them have a pebble surface, while the rest are concrete plateaus equipped with descents into the water. The most popular beach is City Beach, which is very close to the city center. Here you can not only sunbathe and swim in comfortable conditions, but also engage in various water sports. Small cafes are ready to serve tourists delicious food and offer them drinks of various strengths. Other Porec beaches are also not empty - Blue Lagoon, Oliva and Zelena Laguna.
Entertainment
Porec is considered a particularly attractive place for those who prefer active recreation. In addition to 165 tennis courts with a variety of surfaces, there are sports grounds and mini golf courses. For lovers of cycling, special paths have been laid throughout the city. Vacationers are offered to take part in exciting walking tours in the picturesque surroundings. As darkness falls, nightclubs fill with visitors. Experienced travelers recommend visiting the Biblos club, and the best dance floor is considered to be the disco at Club International. Gambling tourists should try their luck at the casinos at the Parentium and Roges hotels.
If you come to Porec with children, be sure to visit the city aquarium. There is a huge collection of representatives of underwater fauna here. You will have the opportunity to see almost all species of fish and cephalopods living in the Adriatic Sea, as well as exotic inhabitants of the depths from all over the planet. For a great time with the whole family, take a bike tour to Baredine Cave. You will not only have vivid impressions from visiting the most beautiful grottoes, skillfully illuminated by spotlights, but also enchanting memories from the amazing mountain landscapes seen during the route.
Attractions
The main attractions of the city date back to the ancient era, and even many later buildings were erected on the foundations of buildings laid by the Romans. In Marfor Square, you simply need to explore the remains of the Roman forum, the ruins of the ancient temples of Neptune and Mars, dating back to the 1st century AD. You should definitely go up to the observation deck of the Euphrasian Basilica, built during the Byzantine Empire, to enjoy a beautiful panorama of the city. This historical monument is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Head of Water

The popularity of this resort, on the site of which 200 years ago there was an inconspicuous fishing village, has been growing rapidly in recent years. It owes this to its advantageous location in the center of the Makarska Riviera, transport accessibility, magnificent coniferous forests and clear sea water washing cozy sand and pebble beaches. Nature itself gave him another advantage. It is reliably protected from cold winds by the mountains, so the beach season is long - it ends only in the last ten days of September. In addition, there is a sufficient number of hotels of different levels and a developed tourist infrastructure.
Infrastructure
A big advantage of local beaches is the possibility of free access. The best of them are Baska Voda, located very close to the city center, Ikovac, located next door, and somewhat distant Oseka. The first two have a pebble surface, with sandy areas and a gentle entrance to the sea. On Oseka beach there are quite large boulders, but there is an opportunity to dive from the stone pier. Vacationers are offered to use sun loungers and umbrellas, take a shower, and play sports on equipped playgrounds. Here you can go water skiing and catamarans. There are bars, cafes and restaurants in the surrounding area.
Entertainment
In addition to relaxing on the beach, tourists can go diving by renting everything they need at a specialized center. The impeccable clay courts make you want to play tennis. Life at the resort does not stop at night. The most popular Apollo and Sunset clubs are located right on the coast, so fiery dancing can be combined with a romantic night swim. Almost all city bars are open until the morning and there will be no problems finding a place where you can while away the night in a relaxed and relaxed atmosphere.
There are no large entertainment centers for children in Baska Voda, but on each beach there are play recreation centers designed for children of different ages. An interesting boat excursion to the nearby islands of Mljet and Hvar will be interesting. During such a trip, the child will receive a lot of positive impressions.
Attractions
Among the attractions of the resort, the authentic churches of St. Lavro and St. Nicholas, built several centuries ago, should be highlighted. They are interesting as examples of traditional Dalmatian architecture of that time. Tourists will be able to view exhibits of the local Ethnographic Museum and visit the excavations of a settlement dating back to the 7th century.

Rovinj

To describe this small town in Istria, one would be tempted to use the epithets “amazing”, “romantic” and even “fabulous”. Indeed, its quiet winding streets, uniquely beautiful alleys and seemingly toy houses enchant at first sight, and the cordiality and hospitality of the local residents complements the impression. The architecture of city buildings is diverse and preserves the originality of successive bygone eras. It is no coincidence that Rovinj has become the venue for traditional festivals of youth pop music and professional photographers, and in the summer yachtsmen from around the world come here for an international regatta.
Infrastructure
Most of the local beaches are artificial and covered with small pebbles. Among them are Lone, located closest to the city, separated from it by the magnificent cedar grove of Punta Corrente, rocky Skaraba and Cuvi, where there are areas of pure sand. Entrance to these recreation areas is free. Excellent conditions have been created here for a good time. Visitors are provided with sun loungers and umbrellas, and there are special areas for active games. If desired, it is easy to rent a catamaran.
Entertainment
Rovinj is great for diving. The coastal waters here are surprisingly clear and abound in marine fauna, scurrying among the thickets of lush underwater vegetation. Those who wish can play tennis on several courts and take walks around the city limits. As the sun sets, numerous cafes, nightclubs and discos fill with visitors. The Valentino Cocktail & Champagene bar received excellent reviews from tourists visiting the town. This establishment prepares interesting and constantly updated programs, including performances by musical groups and exciting discos. In addition, here you will be fed incredibly tasty dishes and offered a variety of drinks.
The city has everything so that neither adults nor children will be bored. Any child will enjoy visiting the Rovinj Aquarium. Its dimensions are not very large, but the design is incredibly impressive. Various reliefs of the seabed are recreated with amazing accuracy. The collection of fish, shellfish and other inhabitants of the depths is varied. Near each aquarium there are signs with the names of representatives of the marine fauna that can be seen in it. At the Monvi entertainment complex, children can have fun on the playgrounds and take advantage of various attractions. It is worth setting aside a separate day to visit Punta Corrente Park, which is a corner of almost untouched, virgin nature.
Attractions
Rovinj dates back its history to the 7th century, so it has plenty of attractions, the main one - the Cathedral of St. Euphemia - can be seen from anywhere in the city. The peak of this religious building, erected in the 18th century according to Venetian architectural canons, rises to 57 m. The bell tower of the temple complex is decorated with a statue of the patroness of amazing work. In addition, you need to explore the Town Hall building and visit the Kaliffi Palace, which houses the Local History Museum.

Split

The second largest city in Croatia, Split, founded in the 3rd century by the Roman emperor Diocletian, is extremely attractive from a tourist point of view. Indeed, there is everything here: magnificent beaches, an abundance of historical monuments, a developed entertainment industry, and many shops for shopping lovers. 25 km from the village there is an international airport, which annually receives tens of thousands of travelers arriving in the country for vacations.
Infrastructure
The first thing that impresses about the beaches of Split is the rich turquoise color of the water. This visual effect is achieved thanks to its amazing transparency, allowing you to see corals at a depth of about 50 m, and the marble-like quartzite that dominates the seabed. Bacvice is considered a truly iconic beach area, the fame of which is spread far beyond the borders of Croatia. It is a favorite place for leisure for local residents and tourists. An excellent infrastructure has been created here, including cafes, restaurants, nightclubs, active recreation areas, and a diving center. Among other holiday destinations, it is worth noting the highly visited beaches of Trstenik, Brela and Znjan.
Entertainment
Perhaps no other policy in Croatia can provide such a variety of entertainment. Split has many sports facilities ready to accommodate lovers of an active lifestyle. There are specialized centers where you can easily rent everything you need for diving and windsurfing. Walking along the city's Riva Harbor embankment in the evenings, you can enjoy performances by street musicians and artists. Spa centers offer relaxation under the hands of an experienced massage therapist and a course of wellness treatments, the most popular of which is Filomena. Guests of the Pub Crawl nightclub are guaranteed to dance until the morning to fiery music, and the Inbox and Mihovilova sirina bars offer to while away the evening with a glass of wine or a glass of stronger drink to the accompaniment of musicians.
No less interesting leisure time is provided for young guests. Any child will be delighted with a visit to the aquarium, where you can admire small sharks, rays, moray eels and lobsters. In the picturesque Marjan Park it is worth spending the whole day with the whole family admiring the beauty of nature, as well as organizing a picnic or visiting the small local zoo. Having covered 20 km along a serpentine mountain road, curious tourists and their children will be able to explore the Vranjaka Cave. The extraordinary beauty and bizarre shapes of stalactites and stalagmites are simply breathtaking. The soils around the grotto are saturated with mineral salts, which is why these crystalline formations have different colors.
Attractions
The entire historical center of Split is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, but the main local attraction is the palace of the city's founder, Emperor Diocletian. In fact, this is a small fortress, when visiting it, it is worth paying special attention to the Cathedral of St. Domnius, the peristyle preserved from ancient times, and the Temple of Jupiter, converted in the Middle Ages into a Christian church. In the vicinity of Split there are the ruins of the ancient city of Solon. Here you can see the ruins of palaces, temples and a large amphitheater.

Balneological resorts

Thermal springs, mineral waters and healing muds that Croatia is rich in are known throughout the world. Therefore, when talking about holidays in this country, one cannot fail to mention the magnificent balneological resorts. Here are just a few of them.
Ivanich-grad
The resort is located at the only source of Naftalan oil in Europe, the healing properties of which people noticed more than 600 years ago. With its help, many skin diseases, including psoriasis, are effectively treated. In addition, therapeutic baths made from this oil help with disorders of the circulatory and nervous systems.
Tuchelske Teplice
