It would seem that there is plenty of time before the New Year holidays. In fact, autumn will fly by quickly, and very soon the most pressing question will be “Where to spend the holidays?” For those who prefer to plan their vacation in advance, we have collected the best holiday destinations for every taste and budget.

Up to 15 thousand rubles

Berlin, Germany

A gala ball in a medieval castle or non-stop bar-hopping, international folk festivals or a Michelin-starred dinner - in Berlin it is possible to combine several New Year's scenarios at once. Regardless of how you ultimately decide to spend your holiday, improvising in the German capital is possible and necessary. The same with the menu: baked carp, an endless variety of meat snacks, aromatic cheeses, as well as beer, punch, punch and a little champagne at the stroke of midnight - Berlin can be called the intersection of a wide variety of gastronomic tastes.

The cost of a flight from Moscow to Berlin during the New Year holidays is from 14.3 thousand rubles.

Poland

If you want to celebrate the New Year in compliance with the main traditions, but in new scenery, go to Warsaw. In addition to the usual fun in the main square of the city and volleys of fireworks, a European fair, hot spicy wine and the Polish festive “pernik” will be added. A couple of hours before midnight, join the company of locals and tourists on Palace Square. Toss a couple of zlotys to the street musicians and take a seat closer to the tree, and when the clock strikes 12 times, try to shout “Szczęśliwego nowego roku” as loudly as possible. On the first day of the year, conquer a couple of slopes or go on excursions around Wroclaw and Krakow. In the latter, do not miss the opportunity to visit the restaurant of the Copernicus Hotel.

The cost of a flight from Moscow to Warsaw during the New Year holidays is from 14 thousand rubles.

The cost of living in a double room at a 3* hotel is from 1.3 thousand rubles.per night

Tbilisi, Georgia

In Tbilisi, one type of lace facades, carefully decorated with Soviet garlands, is enough to create a festive mood. And the aromas of satsivi and khachapuri will finally drive away pre-New Year fatigue. You can spend the main night as your heart desires - if you are not afraid of the thunder of firecrackers and love reckless fun, go with the Tiflis youth to Rustaveli Avenue. And if you prefer to celebrate at the table, then choose any restaurant you like. True, the feast will only be formal at first - Georgians love and know how to have fun. You definitely can’t get away with one night in Tbilisi: feasting on spicy dishes, making long toasts and dancing is customary here from December 31 to January 2. So, if you have the strength to do so, you will be able to explore the treasures of Georgia only from the 3rd. Another day can be spent on thoughtful relaxation with a visit to the famous sulfur baths of Abanotubani.

The cost of a flight from Moscow to Tbilisi during the New Year holidays is from 15 thousand rubles.

Petrozavodsk, Russia

Karelia is an unobvious and very wintry destination for those who prefer to receive congratulations in their native language. Celebrate the holiday the way they did a couple of centuries ago on Kizhi Island or go for a walk around Petrozavodsk itself. Warm up in cozy restaurants and try hearty sweet pies, without which they cannot imagine the New Year in Karelia. On the first day of 2018, you can stroll along the embankment of Lake Onega, and if you come with children, then check out a couple of fabulous museums. For example, to the “Doll House” or the maritime museum of the “Polar Odyssey” club. The holiday program should also include a sleigh ride drawn by huskies through the northern forests and a visit to Pakkaina, the younger brother of Santa Claus.

Almaty, Kazakhstan

It’s best to watch how the old capital of Kazakhstan opens up to the sound of the chimes from the top of Kok-Tyube. However, downstairs, in the center of Almaty, you won’t get bored either: there are parties in spacious bars, and young people dancing right on the street who are having fun for several more days. If you prefer to spend your holidays in a more relaxed mode, go skiing in Shymbulak or ice skating at the world's largest high-mountain skating rink, Medeu. And don’t forget to take time and admire the Big Almaty Lake - one of the most stunning man-made attractions in the country.

Rome, Italy

In Rome, it is not customary to celebrate the New Year with volleys of fireworks and folk festivities. This is a bohemian party in Trastevere, prosecco and conversations with charming Italians. The main thing here is not to stay in one place for a long time. Accept compliments from friendly interlocutors with gratitude and do not count the establishments you go to. In the morning, take a walk along the Tiber embankment, flooded with the warm light of old lanterns. On January 1, not a single establishment will be open, and this day can be devoted to walking around the half-empty city, getting acquainted with architectural monuments and just relaxing. Starting from the second day of the year, you can safely immerse yourself in the cultural program. Don’t ignore advertisements for concerts and performances - in Rome they can be either very expensive or free, but they will definitely decorate the rest of your vacation.

There are no public festivities on the streets on a holiday night, but at the same time life is in full swing in bars and clubs, where noisy parties and colorful performances are held. In this regard, Tel Aviv offers a very wide choice - from an expensive dinner at the Azrieli Tower to dancing on the beach. By the way, the water in the sea will be warm enough to swim in the morning.

Cost of living in a double room at a 3* hotel - from 2.6 thousand rubles. per night

Salzburg, Austria

New Year's Eve in Salzburg is a classic winter holiday. Shimmering braids of garlands, clusters of Christmas tree decorations and pine wreaths have been decorating the city since the beginning of December, and in any of its alleys you can feel like you are in a medieval Austrian fairy tale. Domplatz and Residenzplatz squares host some of the best holiday markets in Europe. And it’s not only about the antique jewelry, fragrant pretzels and sweet mulled wine, but also about the feeling of privacy that appears among the high mountains. On New Year's Eve, buy sparklers in one of the fair houses and celebrate midnight with the city residents to the ringing of the bells of Salzburg Cathedral. The next two days are more than enough to walk around the length and breadth of the historical city center, and after that you can go to one of the ski resorts nearby.

For New Year's gifts, go to the Habbous quarter - here you can find bright grandma's slippers, famous Moroccan lanterns, and colorful mountains of fragrant spices. The cost of living in a double room at a 3* hotel is from 1.4 thousand rubles.per night

Athens, Greece

What’s unusual about a New Year’s trip to Athens is that in the Greek capital the holiday is called St. Basil’s Day. It differs from our usual holiday mainly in that the main character here is not Father Frost or Santa, but actually Saint Basil. Head to Syntagma Square and join the crowded Sirtaki round dance under colorful fireworks. When midnight comes, break a large pomegranate against a stone wall for luck, and in the morning hurry to the nearest bakery to try a lush vasilopita. If you're lucky, a good-natured neighbor will treat you to a traditional New Year's pie - in this case, chew the dessert more carefully: the Greeks like to put a coin in the dough (also for good luck).

The cost of a flight from Moscow to Athens during the New Year holidays is from 21.2 thousand rubles.

The cost of living in a double room at a 3* hotel is from 1.7 thousand rubles.per night

It is worth returning here in the following days - every day at 8 pm the famous “Symphony of Lights”, the largest permanent light show, takes place on the embankment.

Every New Year, the main city square becomes the epicenter of general fun: a large bonfire is lit here, which acts both as a Christmas tree and as a powerful heater. After a few hours, the fireworks will stop, but the sky will not darken, but will only become more beautiful thanks to the magnificent northern lights - a sight that is worth the long journey to Reykjavik.

The cost of a flight from Moscow to Reykjavik during the New Year holidays is from 29.1 thousand rubles.

The cost of living in a double room at a 3* hotel is from 4.7 thousand rubles.per night

New York, USA

The city that never sleeps begins to prepare for the winter holidays about two months in advance and by the end of December it is transformed beyond recognition, sparkling and shimmering with millions of light bulbs and garlands. If you don't want to crowd Times Square, head to the skating rink in Central Park or Gotham Hall (for those with children). However, it will be enough to just stroll along the noisy avenues.

The cost of a flight from Moscow to New York during the New Year holidays is from 34.1 thousand rubles.

The cost of living in a double room at a 3* hotel is from 4.6 thousand rubles.per night

And for those who don’t want to spend a lot, there is always a free beach in the Jumeirah area. Stock up on food and drinks and get here early to get good seats. Last minute tours to visa-free countries are more popular than travel to countries with strict visa controls. And this is not surprising. Many Russian tourists, going on vacation abroad, have repeatedly encountered bureaucratic red tape associated with the need to obtain entry documents. Going through all the formalities takes a lot of time and effort, so when planning their next vacation, Russians are already consciously choosing visa-free tourist destinations. This not only allows you to save on the cost of the trip, but also saves your time and nerves. Let's talk in this article about which countries were included in the list of visa-free countries for Russians in 2017? We will also tell you where a visa will be issued under a simplified scheme?

Every year, more and more states demonstrate a loyal attitude towards Russian citizens visiting their territory. So, there are countries with simplified visa access; the visa issuance procedure takes place upon arrival, which is very convenient. Indeed, in this case, you initially will not have to settle issues with the travel agency and the consulate regarding obtaining permits. When going through control at the airport of arrival, it will be enough to present your international passport; in isolated cases, you will need to confirm the trustworthiness of your intentions and show a sample form of a tourist voucher or return air tickets.

When passing control, in addition to your passport, you may be asked to present a return ticket, voucher, health insurance, invitation and confirm your solvency with a certain amount of money. There is no universal visa-free period of stay for all visa-free countries, so each country resolves this issue separately. Usually the period is 30 days, in some countries – up to 90 days, sometimes – only two weeks.

Where can you go on vacation without a visa?

Let’s take a closer look at which visa-free destinations you can choose for your holiday in 2017, and tell you about these countries. The list of the most popular and inexpensive visa-free countries includes:

  • Türkiye. Such favorite holiday destinations for Russians as Kemer, Antalya and Alanya do not need any introduction. The visa is obtained at the airport of the country of arrival and is valid for 60 days.
  • Egypt. Although the political situation here can hardly be called stable, many Russians remain faithful to their choice and continue to vacation in Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada. A visa is automatically issued to everyone upon arrival, valid for 30 days.
  • Thailand. Anyone planning to stay in Thailand for 30 days or less is given an arrival stamp in their passport at the airport. A visa needs to be issued only to those who want to spend 2-3 months in this country, for example, the whole winter. A single-entry visa for 60 days will cost $40 and can then be extended for another 30 days.
  • Russians can stay in Vietnam without a visa for 15 days. If the period is longer, then here, as in many countries, you can apply for a Visa on arrival right at the airport for free.
  • Israel. Russians can enter Israel with one foreign passport, and the maximum period of stay in this country is 90 days for our tourists.
  • Georgia. A foreign passport is sufficient for entry.
  • Tunisia. A popular visa-free country for our citizens. To visit, you only need a foreign passport valid for more than 3 months from the date of application.
  • Morocco. The popularity of Morocco among Russian tourists began to grow about 3-4 years ago, and since then the trend has not weakened. This was largely possible due to the fact that you do not need a visa to visit this country.
  • Dominican Republic To get to the Dominican Republic, you just need to apply for a tarjeta del tourista - a tourist card and pay a fee of 10 euros for it. It allows you to stay in the republic for up to 30 days.
  • Cuba. You do not need a visa to travel to Cuba. A passport must be valid only for the duration of the trip.
  • China (Hainan Island). If a tourist from Russia flies to Hainan on his own, he can apply for a visa upon arrival at the airport. If you are part of a tourist group, then Russians do not need a visa.
  • Mexico and India. These countries require a formal visa. It can be easily completed online.
  • Jordan. You do not need to apply for a visa before traveling to Jordan. Tourists receive a permit for 40 dinars right at the airport.

Which European countries are easy to get a visa for?

Cyprus. Aphrodite Island attracts tourists with its luxurious beaches, ancient architecture and amazing nature. To get to heaven on earth you will need to apply for a visa online, valid for 90 days.

Bulgaria. Happy holders of a valid Schengen visa will not have to obtain a visa, the period of stay is limited to 3 months. If there is no multiple visa, then the permit is issued at the Bulgarian visa center or the visa issuing department at the consulate.

Montenegro. In this country, visa-free stay is allowed for 30 days, from here you can visit any visa-free neighbor - Serbia, Macedonia, Bosnia, Herzegovina.

Serbia. You can safely travel around Serbia without a visa if your trip does not exceed 30 days.

Macedonia. Visa-free entry to Macedonia for Russians will be valid at least until March 2018.

Bosnia and Herzegovina. If you are traveling to this country for tourist purposes and for no more than 30 days, then you do not need to obtain a visa.

Greece. A short-term visa to Greece costs 35 euros. And although the procedure for obtaining a document is almost the same as in the case of obtaining a visa to any other country of the Schengen Union, Greece is the most loyal to tourists from Russia.

Which countries can you travel to with a Russian passport?

Don’t forget about the most popular resort countries, entry into which is allowed with an internal Russian passport. Feel free to go there for new experiences, but remember that the period of stay for Russian tourists on their territory is limited to 90 days.

  • Abkhazia is a sunny region with amazing mountain nature, ancient caves and healing mineral springs.
  • Belarus is definitely where neither acclimatization nor the language barrier can prevent you from enjoying your vacation to the fullest.
  • Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

Average prices for last-minute tours to visa-free countries from Moscow

Traveling to countries without a visa on a last-minute tour is the ideal and most common holiday option. The cost of such tours is actually 30-40% lower than regular options, and the visa-free regime makes organizing the trip easy. You can choose a tour 4-5 days before the expected date, buy it and quickly get ready. There is no need to worry about whether you will be given a visa or not.

Many exotic countries require visa-free entry; they are slightly less popular among tourists, since holidays in them are more expensive. But nevertheless, last-minute tours departing from Moscow are sold there more often than to countries where Schengen is required.

There are many interesting places in Russia where you can celebrate the New Year and spend a week of January vacation. We offer you to choose where to go for the New Year holidays 2017 inexpensively, but with the opportunity to gain new impressions, have fun and usefully spend time.

We celebrate the New Year in Russia and inexpensively

Kaliningrad

You want to celebrate the New Year in a European way, but you can’t go abroad. There is a good alternative - Kaliningrad, which combines both German and Russian charm. The city's narrow streets and buildings with red tiled roofs still retain a subtle European spirit. This city has always been considered unique, so why not get to know it better? Ancient European architecture and New Year's illumination will give you new impressions.

There is a tradition in Kaliningrad: on New Year’s Day, an exciting theatrical performance takes place on the main square, in which all those gathered become unwitting participants.

There are so many attractions in Kaliningrad and its surroundings that a week is clearly not enough to explore them. The Cathedral, the Amber Castle, the Curonian Spit natural park with the Dancing Forest and the one-of-a-kind Museum of Superstitions, fortress gates and defensive structures with a centuries-old history will not leave anyone indifferent. You can while away romantic evenings in a restaurant that suits your mood. Or party with a group of friends all night long in one of the modern clubs.

The weather at the end of December is quite warm and often rains or snows. It is quite windy, so it is better to dress in windproof clothes.

How much will it cost? For the winter holidays, tickets can be purchased from Moscow to Kaliningrad and back from 8.5 thousand rubles. In addition, the low-cost airline Pobeda now flies to the city, making it possible to fly even cheaper. Tickets to Kaliningrad:

Choosing an accommodation option is also not a problem.

Karelia

An unforgettable holiday can be organized in Karelia - among untouched nature and virgin snow. There are a lot of recreation options here: ice fishing, winter sports, excursion routes, gastronomic tourism. There are also plenty of ways to celebrate the New Year's holiday: you can rent a cottage or rent a room in a guesthouse and spend New Year's Eve in solitude, or you can stay in Petrozavodsk and go to a restaurant.

You can sing about the beauty of Karelia for a long time; it is better to go there and see with your own eyes all the sights and amazing nature.

On New Year's Day in Karelia it is usually warm, no more than 10 degrees below zero. Winter is snowy and mild, but the humidity here is high, it is windy, and therefore the cold is difficult to bear - we advise you to warm yourself up for the trip.

How much will it cost. You can get there by plane, train or car. It is better to buy tickets in advance. A one-way trip in a reserved seat carriage costs from 1,108 rubles, in a compartment - from 2,134 rubles.

Airplane tickets from Moscow to the capital of Karelia and back cost about 8 thousand rubles.

Hotels. Good housing in the city can be rented for 1500-2000 rubles per day. There are also more expensive other options, for example

Kazan

A good option for celebrating the New Year 2017 is Kazan. The beauty of the city with its magnificent architecture and many attractions is simply mesmerizing.

The originality and oriental flavor in this city are organically combined with ancient Christian shrines. On the territory of the Kazan Kremlin, for example, there are nearby the beautiful Kul-Sharif mosque, the leaning tower of Syuyumbike and the majestic Annunciation Cathedral.

But Kazan is not only attractive for its architectural monuments and museums. The city surprises with an abundance of street celebrations, shows and interactive performances. A holiday trip to Kazan is an excellent option for residents of the central part of the country.

You can spend New Year's Eve in a national restaurant, trying local unusual dishes: sweet Gubadiya pie, echpochmak pies, honey chak-chak, hearty kystybai and so on.

How much will it cost? The cost of a flight from Moscow and back during the New Year holidays per adult will be about 6,600 rubles; a train or bus ticket will be much cheaper.

Adygea

Do you want to be woken up after New Year's Eve by the warm, bright sun? Then I suggest going to the resorts of Adygea.

Thanks to its favorable location in the resort villages of Adygea, the climate is excellent. The villages of Khadzhokh and Guzeripl are protected by high mountain ranges, and therefore they have a unique microclimate and healing air, saturated with essential oils. The weather here is very changeable: on New Year's Day it can be plus 15 or a slight minus. But Khadzhokh and Guzeripl have an undeniable advantage, even over the Black Sea resorts - it is very sunny here, it rains extremely rarely.

Where to go - to Khadzhokh or Guzeripl; they differ little in the number of attractions and places where you can stay. Khadzhokh is a little more popular among tourists; it’s closer to get here from Maykop. Guzeripl is located 76 kilometers from Maykop, but has its advantages.
There are no problems with accommodation in the villages - sanatoriums and cozy cottages await guests. For a New Year's party, it is better to rent a cottage for a large group, with a swimming pool, gazebo and barbecue. There are mountains all around, valleys strewn with snowdrops - you can remember the fairy tale “The Twelve Months”.

Even more conditions for relaxation at the hot thermal springs. Here you will definitely take a break from the bustle of the city and gain strength for the new working year. There is a well-equipped base a few kilometers from Hadzhokh. There are two illuminated swimming pools, the water in which is constantly renewed. Temperature is about 40 degrees. You can sit in this pool for hours. In Guzeripl, thermal water pools are located in sanatoriums.

If you still want to move, then you should walk around and travel around the area. And in these places there really is something to see: the Lago-Naki plateau and Mount Fisht. There is also a ski resort here, where you can go for a couple of days. The main attraction of the village of Kamennomostsky (Khadzhokh) is the Khadzhokh Gorge, located on its southern outskirts. This is a very narrow and deep canyon, along the bottom of which the crystal clear Belaya River flows. And over the canyon itself hangs a collapsed rock that has formed a natural stone bridge - because of it the village received its current name. Khadzhokh is a Circassian name and is more often used by locals and tourists. Be sure to get to Rufbago Falls. In winter they are even more beautiful: everything is frozen in ice, and the trees are covered with transparent frost. In the vicinity of Khadzhokh there are more than 10 visited caves, the famous Meshoko and Aminovskoe gorges.
