Turkish Airlines flight check-in online

Online check-in for a Turkish Airlines flight is possible via the Internet or directly at the airport. Passengers with children under two years of age and airline customers with checked baggage are required to check in at the airport. To check in for a flight online, you need to follow the link to the official website of the representative and follow the instructions:

  1. The online registration process starts one day before the plane's departure, but no later than 2 hours before the plane takes off - register in a timely manner.
  2. A maximum of four people can register for one ticket reservation at a time.
  3. When registering, you must enter your passport details, flight information and reservation code, which is sent by email.
  4. During the online check-in process, you can choose a seat in the cabin and check in your luggage.

The advantages of registering in the Online Check-In system are obvious: registration can be easily done directly from the office or home; after arriving at the airport, there is no need to go to the check-in counter, since the passenger prints out the boarding pass independently, which saves time and allows you to choose a seat on the plane.

The instructions for online registration include switching to the Online Check-In service, after which the passenger is asked to follow a simple algorithm: enter the first and last name in English. To start registration only for the mentioned passenger, you need to press E-Ticket (a thirteen-digit numeric expression in the “Ticket Number” column, which is in the passenger’s hands) or go to the booking directory (PNR is a six-digit alphabetic code on the ticket).

Russian language is not available during registration. It is necessary to check the box that the client has been warned about the need to store information about the reservation and e-ticket number for his own safety. After entering the data, the passenger clicks the “Continue” tab, which, if all actions are performed correctly, lights up green, and proceeds to selecting a seat in the cabin.

The service provides a detailed diagram of the seating arrangement. Use the mouse button to indicate the selected seat - the passenger's last name will appear above it. Next, the system will redirect the user to print the boarding pass. After pressing the Print button, it is no longer possible to change the selected seat on board. The passenger presents the printed ticket at the airport counter before boarding.

Important!

  • Not all airports offer online registration; this information must be checked with the administration in advance.
  • Regarding the booking rules, you need to know that you can refuse a ticket (cancel the reservation) no later than twelve hours before the flight departure, provided that the purchased ticket has not yet been issued.
  • Refunds can be obtained in the country where the ticket was issued.
  • There is a fine for returning a ticket.
  • If your flight is less than 12 hours away, you can cancel your flight through the airline's service center. This applies to non-international flights. After the plane departs, the ticket price is not refunded.

Turkish Airlines(Turkish Airlines) is the national carrier of Turkey. The company's headquarters is located in Istanbul, where its main hub airport, the international one, is also located. The airline's additional hubs are Ankara and Istanbul.

Initiative of the Turkish Ministry of Defense

The airline's history began in May 1933, when the country's Ministry of Defense established an air transportation management department called the State Airways Administration. At the time of its creation, the company's fleet included only 5 aircraft with a total number of seats equal to 19, and the number of employees did not exceed 24 (7 pilots, 8 mechanics, 8 office workers and 1 radio operator). Initially, the Turkish State Airlines Authority carried passengers between three cities: Ankara, Eskisehir and Istanbul. In 1938, the airline became part of the Ministry of Transport.

More planes - more destinations

Over the next few years, Turkish Airlines expanded its fleet and flight geography. So, by 1945, the company’s fleet already included 52 aircraft, and the number of destinations increased from 3 to 19. However, at that time these were only domestic flights. The first international flight took place in 1947. It was a flight from Ankara to Athens via Istanbul.

Modern name

Since its founding, the Turkish air carrier has been renamed more than once. It received its modern name - Turkish Airlines - in 1955. The following year, a major reorganization took place, resulting in the airline receiving corporate status.

New horizons for Turkish Airlines

The 1960s and 70s became a period of rapid development for Turkish Airlines. This was greatly facilitated by the transition to jet engines, which marked a new era in civil aviation. During this period, Turkish Airlines intensively expanded its fleet, acquiring the most modern airliners, and continued to increase the number of destinations served. With the acquisition of new long-haul airliners in the 1980s, the possibility of transatlantic flights opened up. In 1988, flights to New York appeared in the airline's route network.

Keep up with the times

In subsequent years, the airline responded sensitively to all changes and trends in the economy, society, and the world of new technologies. This is evidenced, for example, by the privatization policy launched by the government in 1990, when the first 5% of the company's shares were sold. Subsequently, the state parted with a total of 51% of the carrier's shares, which went into private ownership. In the early 2000s, keeping up with the times, Turkish Airlines introduced the sale of electronic tickets and online check-in for flights. The global economic crisis of 2008 prompted the company's management to decide to join the international aviation alliance, of which Turkish Airlines became a member in the same year. Particular attention began to be paid to flight safety. For this purpose, a set of measures was developed that include not only pre-flight preparation and monitoring the technical condition of airliners, but also care for the health of pilots and flight attendants.

For the high quality of service, safety and impeccable work of its employees, Turkish Airlines was recognized as the best airline in Europe for several years in a row (from 2011 to 2016).
