If you haven’t printed out your boarding pass for the plane, what should you do? How to use and print Aeroflot's mobile boarding pass Where to print your boarding pass on the map

A boarding pass is the main document for a passenger; without it you will not be allowed on the plane. Airport security services mark boarding passes as having passed security checks and passport control. Airline staff check boarding passes upon boarding a plane to double check that passengers are on the correct flight and to help them find a seat on board.

The type of boarding pass depends on how you checked in for the flight: if you checked in for the flight yourself, it can be printed on an A4 home printer; if you received your boarding pass at the airport, it will be a rectangular piece of paper.

The boarding pass must contain information about the passenger, date and time of departure, flight number, boarding gate and seat in the aircraft cabin.

Electronic boarding passes

The boarding pass can be in electronic form. When checking in online independently, the airline sends an electronic boarding pass to the passenger by email. If you are flying from Russian airports and CIS countries, you must print your boarding pass. This can be done at home or in the office, at check-in counters or airport check-in terminals.

Starting from 2018, the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation plans to allow the use of electronic boarding passes from smartphone screens. Paper boarding passes will also be available for use.

How to get a boarding pass

You can obtain your boarding pass in advance yourself or at the airport check-in counter. To get your boarding pass yourself, you must first go through online check-in on the airline's website. Avianiti recommends that passengers check in online themselves, as they can choose the most comfortable seats on the plane and save time at the airport.

Do I need to print a boarding pass when checking in online?

There are no requirements that oblige the passenger to print a boarding pass. If you checked in online, you can print your boarding pass yourself or have the airline staff do it at the airport check-in counter.

Passengers flying from Russian airports and CIS countries are required to have a printed boarding pass. This is due to the requirements of airport security services, which stamp security checks on boarding passes. Therefore, without a paper boarding pass, you simply will not be allowed into the security check area before boarding.

At major foreign airports, after online check-in, you do not need to print your boarding pass.

How to print a boarding pass

After completing online check-in on the airline's website, you will be asked to print out your boarding pass and send it to your email. As a rule, a copy of the boarding pass is sent by mail.

If you did not receive or accidentally deleted a letter from the airline with registration data, do not worry, your data is in the airline’s system. You can call the airline so that they can check whether you entered your email correctly or resend your boarding pass. You can print the landing page on ordinary A4 paper; you do not need to cut it to shape with scissors.

What to do if you don't have a printer

If you don't have a printer, don't worry, you can print your boarding pass for free at the airport. This will be done by an airline employee at the check-in counter or by you yourself in special electronic terminals. These are located near your airline's check-in counters and are called Check-in or Self Service Machines. These terminals have several foreign languages, including Russian. You will need to enter your details, after which the terminal will print your boarding pass.

Some terminals are equipped with a barcode or QR code scanner; if your electronic boarding pass has such a code, simply hold it up to the scanner and you will not need to enter your registration details. If you have an airline mile card, insert it into the terminal and it will automatically read information about you and your flight from it. You can also attach a biometric foreign passport for scanning.

If you are at a hotel, after completing online check-in, contact the hotel reception staff and ask to print your boarding pass. You will need to send it to the hotel's email.

Should I print my boarding pass or not?

If you are in doubt whether you need to print your boarding pass or whether only a digital copy on your phone will be enough - print it! The phone may freeze, freeze, or get lost. Avianiti recommends printing your boarding pass, especially if you are in an unfamiliar country. You just need to present your printed ticket to the airport employee and they will immediately tell you where to go. With a printed boarding pass you will save time.

Boarding pass- This is a pass for a passenger to board an aircraft. Usually forms boarding passes are standard on all airlines. This is a cardboard measuring approximately 20x8 cm, which is divided into two parts.

Sample Boarding pass forms for various airlines can be seen below. The left side of the form is intended for airport employees. They tear it off and take it for themselves during landing. The right spine remains with the passenger.

Depending on the airline and check-in type, boarding passes may vary. For example, when checking in online, boarding passes must be printed on A4 paper.

When flying with classic airlines, the boarding pass indicates the flight and ticket number, class of service, boarding start time, whether the passenger is a member of the frequent flyer program, and the seat number.

When flying with low-cost airlines, the boarding pass usually does not indicate the seat number, but the type of boarding is indicated if the passenger has paid for priority boarding.

Airlines often provide the option of obtaining a boarding pass at the airport at the check-in counter or by checking in online and then printing the boarding pass on a regular A4 sheet.

Please note that some airlines charge a fee to print your boarding pass at the airport.

Many airports have self-check-in machines in the check-in area. You can enter your details and e-ticket number and receive a printed version of your boarding pass.

The methods for printing your boarding pass are listed above. They can print it out for you at the airport check-in counter or self-check-in kiosk, or you can do it at home by printing your boarding pass.

If you checked in online, you most likely saved a file with your boarding pass on your computer or in your email. Thus, you can restore your boarding pass by simply reprinting the file. If you checked in at the airport, then you will not be able to restore your boarding pass form.

Some airlines allow you to check in online and send an electronic boarding pass to the passenger's phone.

The screen of a mobile device with such an electronic boarding pass must be attached to the scanner at the airport. Please note that the ability to receive an electronic boarding pass does not mean that you will be able to board the plane with it. At some airports, passengers are required to go to the check-in counter and receive a regular paper boarding pass.

After checking in for a flight via the Internet, you can print your boarding pass at home or in the office, get it on your mobile phone or use the standard procedure for obtaining a boarding pass at the airport.

After choosing a seat in the cabin, select the function "Print boarding pass" (“Print out boarding pass”). To ensure the best possible print quality for your coupon, disable Pop-up Blocker. The boarding pass can be printed on a regular printer.

If you cannot print your boarding pass or you have forgotten/lost your printed boarding pass, please log in again and print it again. You can also get a voucher at the airport from a self-service check-in machine.

What is a pop-up blocker and how can I disable it?

A pop-up blocker is a feature that prevents additional browser windows from opening (“popping up”)—called “pop-ups.”

Unblocking the browser Microsoft Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer, enhanced with Windows XP Service Pack 2, includes a pop-up blocker. To open the airline window, go to the menu "Tools" - "Pop-up Blocker" - "Pop-up Blocker Settings". Then in the "Address of website to allow" window, enter for example the following domain: lufthansa.com and click "Add".

Unblocking the Mozilla Firefox browser

The Mozilla Firefox browser already comes with a standard pop-up blocker. To allow the airline window to appear, select “Tools” - “Settings” from the menu. In the "Content" section, add the following domain using the "Allowed sites" button: lufthansa.com

Unblocking in other browsers

Please use your browser's "Help" feature to learn how to disable your pop-up blocker.

Other types of boarding passes (mobile boarding pass, standard boarding pass obtained from a self-service check-in machine)

At your request, a mobile boarding pass can be sent to your mobile phone. After selecting your seat, at the end of the online check-in process, select the Mobile Boarding Pass option and provide your mobile phone number or email address. This service is already offered on most routes of most airlines.

Register using your mobile phone and save time

Using a phone with Internet access, you can check in for your flight 23 hours before departure, choose your seat and receive your mobile boarding pass. This way you save valuable time.

How to check in using a mobile phone for example for Lufthansa flights

  • Dial lufthansa.com in the browser.
  • Click Register/ Check-in.
  • For identification, use your plastic card card number and your last name or reservation code and first and last name.
  • Select your seat using the interactive map.

Please take into account the registration deadlines. By this time you should be checked in for the flight and your luggage should already be checked in. Check-in deadlines depend on the departure airport.

How to get a mobile boarding pass

After the message “You are checked in”, you will receive a mobile boarding pass in the form of an SMS with a link, or an e-mail message directly to your phone (technical ability to access the Internet is required). Along with the 2D bar code, the message will contain text information about your flight.

If you select SMS link, you will receive an SMS containing a link to the page where your mobile boarding pass is saved. You can go to this page at any time before your flight departs.

To use this option you need a phone with Internet access. To test this feature, you can order a test mobile boarding pass.

If you have problems obtaining a mobile boarding pass, you can obtain a traditional boarding pass from a check-in machine or at the airport check-in counter. The same applies if your phone battery is low and your boarding pass is not available.

You can also request a mobile boarding pass after online check-in and after check-in via SMS.

The fastest way to get on board a plane

Save time with a mobile boarding pass: If you only have carry-on luggage, go straight to security and then to the boarding gate. Checked baggage can be quickly dropped off at one of the airlines' baggage drop-off counters.

Please present your 2D bar code on your mobile phone screen to the airline representative for scanning. The phone backlight must be turned on.

Security control, transfer
Please provide information relating to your flight in plain text for identification.

Boarding passage through scanner
When boarding, bring the 2D bar code to the scanner
Important: Make sure your phone's backlight is on.
Before your trip, read the information about registration deadlines. Before the expiration of the specified period, you must receive your boarding pass and check in your luggage. Check-in times may vary at different airports.

Selecting another flight after check-in is completed

If you receive your boarding pass through online check-in, you can choose another seat in the cabin or, if the fare allows this option, choose another flight after check-in. To do this, at the self-check-in machine located in the airport building, present your boarding pass (barcode) to the scanner and follow the instructions on the machine’s display.

A boarding pass for an Aeroflot flight is an indispensable attribute for a passenger to go through customs procedures and enter the aircraft cabin. Unlike train travel, having a ticket and passport to travel is not enough. The document is required not only for flights outside the Russian Federation, but also within it.

Example of an Aeroflot boarding pass

However, regardless of where and how the document was received, the information displayed on it is identical. They are as follows:

  • Last name, first name, patronymic of the passenger. Written in Latin letters.
  • Flight number.
  • Travel route (departure and destination).
  • Takeoff and landing times.
  • Boarding number.
  • Airplane seat number.

At the time of the first check, airport employees tear off part of the ticket, the second remains with the client of the company. Registration data is written on both halves. This makes it easier to find your seat in the cabin and is used to fill out the migration card upon arrival (if necessary).

The boarding pass for an Aeroflot aircraft is kept by the passenger until the end of the trip. That is, before leaving the arrival airport.

Receipt procedure

You can get your boarding pass anywhere in the world. Modern technologies make it possible to do this using a mobile phone connected to the Internet. In addition, there are several more registration options, each of which has its own characteristics.

Registration in the terminal

Numerous check-in counters located at the airport are assigned directly to one individual flight.

Information about the terminals is announced through loudspeakers and displayed on an electronic display, so finding them will not be difficult.

The procedure should be as follows:

  1. We insert a credit or bonus card into the terminal connector to identify personal data.
  2. Enter the reservation code (PNR).
  3. We check the name of the flight and information about passengers.
  4. We choose a place.
  5. Print out your boarding pass.

The key advantage of such registration is the ability to choose where to board the plane.

Online registration

This technology is available to all Aeroflot passengers flying from airports that have this system. It starts no earlier than one day before departure and ends 45 minutes before departure.

Online registration begins no earlier than one day before departure and ends 45 minutes before departure.

A disadvantage of the procedure is the ban on registration actions related to accompanying a minor child traveling without parents or guardians.

You can print the pass at the airport from the staff at the check-in counter.

A special document - a boarding pass and check-in for a flight at Russian airports are again undergoing changes: from February 24, new rules began to be applied, according to which passengers can use not a paper, but an electronic boarding pass if they fly from a Russian airport.

What an electronic boarding pass is and how to use it was explained by the order of the Russian Ministry of Transport (reg. No. 53767 dated February 13, 2019), which was published the other day.

Duty provide passengers with information about using an electronic boarding pass assigned to the airline, information must be available at the airport of departure and/or on the airline’s website.

Checking in for a flight: how to issue an electronic boarding pass

The registration and collection procedure begins as soon as the passenger starts booking a ticket.

According to the new rules air carrier along with the passenger's ticket booking draws up to him electronic boarding pass in the form of a regular (familiar to everyone who has ever shopped at a supermarket) barcode and sends to any electronic medium(mobile phone, tablet), which the passenger will indicate when booking a ticket.

According to clause 1.3 of the Order of the Ministry of Transport:

When registering a passenger electronically, the passenger, at his choice, is given the right by the carrier to:

  • print your boarding pass yourself
  • obtain a paper boarding pass at the airport or at check-in points located outside the airport
  • use an electronic boarding pass

During pre-flight inspection, the aviation security service checks boarding passes. This check:

"can be carried out by scanning them from the screen of an electronic medium presented by the passenger."

It's obvious that now passenger can use on boarding not only: electronic boarding pass, but also regular paper boarding pass, And printed electronic boarding pass in the form of a barcode- This passenger's right of choice.

The so-called “mobile boarding pass” or electronic boarding pass can only be used if the airport has the technical ability to process this type of document, and the airline that sells tickets for a particular flight supports electronic boarding pass technology.

What is the technical capability of processing an electronic boarding pass? This is the presence of two functions:

  1. The airport has an information system that includes an electronic inspection database.
  2. There is a device that scans the barcode contained in the boarding pass.

As you know, the procedure for using boarding passes is prescribed in the rules for pre-flight inspection. Before the adoption of new rules allowing the use of an electronic sample coupon during pre-flight inspection, the passenger was stamped on a paper boarding pass. Now, if the passenger does not have a paper version of this document, but only has electronic boarding pass on any electronic media(on a smartphone, tablet), the aviation security service (SAS) must make a mark in the electronic database, which actually replaces the stamp on a paper document.

If for some reason a passenger leaves the sterile (clean) area of the airport after checking in and undergoing pre-flight inspection, the check in the electronic database must be removed by SAB employees.

Electronic boarding pass: benefits

1. Simplification of the check-in procedure for a flight - now you don’t have to worry about the presence or absence of a paper boarding pass (some low-cost airlines require a decent surcharge for printing it, for example, Pobeda airline - 25 euros, Ryanair - 45 euros). Speaking of Pobeda: from February 18 of this year, the airline introduced new rules for the carriage of baggage and hand luggage. Low-cost airline Ryanaair also did not keep us waiting long: it increased tariffs for the transportation of hand luggage and baggage.

2. Simplification of pre-flight formalities - the registration procedure itself and boarding the plane are completed quickly.

3. Saving money for the passenger - there is no need to pay extra if the paper version of the boarding pass is lost.

4. Saving the passenger's nerves - there is no need to frantically search for where to print out the boarding pass if it suddenly gets lost somewhere or the passenger simply forgot to take it with him to the airport.

Flaws

1. The need to constantly monitor the battery charge of a mobile phone - the device must have enough energy until the very moment the plane takes off (the ability to check the draft card remains until this time). If your phone is not entirely reliable (freezes or reboots spontaneously), it is better to be on the safe side by printing your boarding pass in advance.

2. For passengers flying on a business trip, a paper boarding pass is still needed - at the end of the business trip they must report on the funds spent and submit supporting documents (including the boarding pass).

Where to print your boarding pass if you really need it

Paper boarding passes can be printed both by yourself (at home, in a hotel, office, etc.) and at self-check-in kiosks, and at some airports in the Russian Federation - in special machines that print paper boarding passes. If you have not used one of the listed services, you can get a paper boarding pass at the check-in counter (but be careful - in some cases this service is paid and also expensive).

As the order of the Ministry of Transport promises, the option to independently print a paper boarding pass or receive it at the airport will be retained.

Which airports are ready to check in passengers with an electronic boarding pass?

The innovation, which will come into force on February 24 of this year, will probably not immediately begin to be applied at Russian airports for one simple reason: many airports are simply not ready for such a procedure - they do not have the necessary equipment, the staff is not trained, the procedure for interaction with the border service is not established, when it comes to the use of electronic boarding passes on international flights.

As of today, the border service, as a rule, also uses a paper boarding pass during inspection, recording the end of the inspection procedure with a stamp on this passenger document.

1. Sheremetyevo

This airport announced on March 27 that it will be ready to use electronic boarding passes starting on April 4 - all terminals have already been equipped, but passengers will be able to use regular paper types of this document. As you know, Aeroflot airline flies from Sheremetyevo.

More information about the electronic boarding pass at Sheremetyevo...

2. Domodedovo

According to representatives of Domodedovo Airport, this Moscow air hub is already ready to accept passengers with a new electronic boarding pass. All boarding gates have automated turnstiles (eGates), and the sterile area of the airport is open to those with an electronic boarding pass. However, you will still have to present a paper boarding pass when boarding the plane. At the same time, you do not need to print out the paper version yourself - it will be given to the passenger if he presents the QR code (boarding pass barcode) provided by the airline when booking the ticket.

Many flights start from Domodedovo, including Ural Airlines, which recently introduced new tariffs on new routes to Europe: Prague, Rome, Bordeaux, Montpellier, Nice (Côte d'Azur of France).

3. Vnukovo

Employees of the Vnukovo airport reported that with the entry into force of Order No. 53767 of the Ministry of Transport dated January 14, 2019, the relevant airport services have already begun work on introducing such a pass system, but it is not yet working, so passengers need to have a regular paper pass with them. landing.
