Airplane boarding pass: what it looks like, where to get it, how to restore it. Boarding pass: how to get, print and restore Where to get a boarding pass

Check-in for flights

Dear passengers! Passage to areas of domestic and international airlines is only possible if the passenger has a boarding pass (in paper or electronic form).

Passenger check-in is carried out on the second floor of the terminal and automatically ends 40 minutes before the flight departure time indicated on the ticket (for flights of Turkish airlines, flydubai and FlyOne - 60 minutes). Check-in start time depends on the airline, but no later than two hours before departure.

Please don't be late for registration! Employees at the check-in counters do not have the technical ability to reopen registration after it has ended.

All passengers must check-in for their flight before departure and, in addition to their existing air ticket, receive a boarding pass.

A paper boarding pass can be printed in advance on any printer, and can also be obtained before check-in for your flight at the check-in counters for your flight or printed on the REPRINT devices located in front of the entrance to the domestic departures area, opposite check-in sections 61 and 80 ( Utair and other airlines) and opposite the 85th check-in section (“Russia”). Turkish airlines passengers can use the airline's self-check-in kiosks.

Transfer/transit passengers arriving and departing on domestic routes can also print a paper boarding pass by contacting the transfer/transit check-in counter.

If you need to get a mark (stamp) about passing special control on a paper boarding pass, you will need to have a printed boarding pass with you and, if necessary, request a mark (stamp) from the aviation security officer at the special control counter. Please note that it is possible to obtain a mark (stamp) on a paper boarding pass at the airport of departure only during pre-flight procedures. Once a flight has completed, all requests for flight confirmation must be directed to the carrier (airline).

Certain flight routes may have special conditions for online check-in. Please check them on the airlines' websites or help desks.

A special document - a boarding pass and check-in for a flight at Russian airports are again undergoing changes: from February 24, new rules began to be applied, according to which passengers can use not a paper, but an electronic boarding pass if they fly from a Russian airport.

What an electronic boarding pass is and how to use it was explained by the order of the Russian Ministry of Transport (reg. No. 53767 dated February 13, 2019), which was published the other day.

Duty provide passengers with information about using an electronic boarding pass assigned to the airline, information must be available at the airport of departure and/or on the airline’s website.

Checking in for a flight: how to issue an electronic boarding pass

The registration and collection procedure begins as soon as the passenger starts booking a ticket.

According to the new rules air carrier along with the passenger's ticket booking draws up to him electronic boarding pass in the form of a regular (familiar to everyone who has ever shopped at a supermarket) barcode and sends to any electronic medium(mobile phone, tablet), which the passenger will indicate when booking a ticket.

According to clause 1.3 of the Order of the Ministry of Transport:

When registering a passenger electronically, the passenger, at his choice, is given the right by the carrier to:

  • print your boarding pass yourself
  • obtain a paper boarding pass at the airport or at check-in points located outside the airport
  • use an electronic boarding pass

During pre-flight inspection, the aviation security service checks boarding passes. This check:

"can be carried out by scanning them from the screen of an electronic medium presented by the passenger."

It's obvious that now passenger can use on boarding not only: electronic boarding pass, but also regular paper boarding pass, And printed electronic boarding pass in the form of a barcode- This passenger's right of choice.

The so-called “mobile boarding pass” or electronic boarding pass can only be used if the airport has the technical ability to process this type of document, and the airline that sells tickets for a particular flight supports electronic boarding pass technology.

What is the technical capability of processing an electronic boarding pass? This is the presence of two functions:

  1. The airport has an information system that includes an electronic inspection database.
  2. There is a device that scans the barcode contained in the boarding pass.

As you know, the procedure for using boarding passes is prescribed in the rules for pre-flight inspection. Before the adoption of new rules allowing the use of an electronic sample coupon during pre-flight inspection, the passenger was stamped on a paper boarding pass. Now, if the passenger does not have a paper version of this document, but only has electronic boarding pass on any electronic media(on a smartphone, tablet), the aviation security service (SAS) must make a mark in the electronic database, which actually replaces a stamp on a paper document.

If for some reason a passenger leaves the sterile (clean) area of the airport after checking in and undergoing pre-flight inspection, the check in the electronic database must be removed by SAB employees.

Electronic boarding pass: benefits

1. Simplification of the check-in procedure for a flight - now you don’t have to worry about the presence or absence of a paper boarding pass (some low-cost airlines require a decent surcharge for printing it, for example, Pobeda airline - 25 euros, Ryanair - 45 euros). Speaking of Pobeda: from February 18 of this year, the airline introduced new rules for the carriage of baggage and hand luggage. Low-cost airline Ryanaair also did not keep us waiting long: it increased tariffs for the transportation of hand luggage and baggage.

2. Simplification of pre-flight formalities - the registration procedure itself and boarding the plane are completed quickly.

3. Saving money for the passenger - there is no need to pay extra if the paper version of the boarding pass is lost.

4. Saving the passenger's nerves - there is no need to frantically search for where to print out the boarding pass if it suddenly gets lost somewhere or the passenger simply forgot to take it with him to the airport.

Flaws

1. The need to constantly monitor the battery charge of a mobile phone - the device must have enough energy until the very moment the plane takes off (the ability to check the draft card remains until this time). If your phone is not entirely reliable (freezes or reboots spontaneously), it is better to be on the safe side by printing your boarding pass in advance.

2. For passengers flying on a business trip, a paper boarding pass is still needed - at the end of the business trip they must report on the funds spent and submit supporting documents (including the boarding pass).

Where to print your boarding pass if you really need it

Paper boarding passes can be printed both by yourself (at home, in a hotel, office, etc.) and at self-check-in kiosks, and at some airports in the Russian Federation - in special machines that print paper boarding passes. If you have not used one of the listed services, you can get a paper boarding pass at the check-in counter (but be careful - in some cases this service is paid and also expensive).

As the order of the Ministry of Transport promises, the option to independently print a paper boarding pass or receive it at the airport will be retained.

Which airports are ready to check in passengers with an electronic boarding pass?

The innovation, which will come into force on February 24 of this year, will probably not immediately begin to be applied at Russian airports for one simple reason: many airports are simply not ready for such a procedure - they do not have the necessary equipment, the staff is not trained, the procedure for interaction with the border service is not established, when it comes to the use of electronic boarding passes on international flights.

As of today, the border service, as a rule, also uses a paper boarding pass during inspection, recording the end of the inspection procedure with a stamp on this passenger document.

1. Sheremetyevo

This airport announced on March 27 that it will be ready to use electronic boarding passes starting on April 4 - all terminals have already been equipped, but passengers will be able to use regular paper types of this document. As you know, Aeroflot airline flies from Sheremetyevo.

2. Domodedovo

According to representatives of Domodedovo Airport, this Moscow air hub is already ready to accept passengers with a new electronic boarding pass. All boarding gates have automated turnstiles (eGates), and the sterile area of the airport is open to those with an electronic boarding pass. However, you will still have to present a paper boarding pass when boarding the plane. At the same time, you do not need to print out the paper version yourself - it will be given to the passenger if he presents the QR code (boarding pass barcode) provided by the airline when booking the ticket.

Many flights start from Domodedovo, including Ural Airlines, which recently introduced new tariffs on new routes to Europe: Prague, Rome, Bordeaux, Montpellier, Nice (Côte d'Azur of France).

3. Vnukovo

Employees of Vnukovo Airport reported that with the entry into force of Order No. 53767 of the Ministry of Transport dated January 14, 2019, the relevant airport services have already begun work on introducing such a pass system, but it is not yet working, so passengers need to carry a regular paper pass. landing.

Boarding pass- This is a pass for a passenger to board an aircraft. Usually forms boarding passes are standard on all airlines. This is a cardboard measuring approximately 20x8 cm, which is divided into two parts.

Sample Boarding pass forms for various airlines can be seen below. The left side of the form is intended for airport employees. They tear it off and take it for themselves during landing. The right spine remains with the passenger.

Depending on the airline and check-in type, boarding passes may vary. For example, when checking in online, boarding passes must be printed on A4 paper.

When flying with classic airlines, the boarding pass indicates the flight and ticket number, class of service, boarding start time, whether the passenger is a member of the frequent flyer program, and the seat number.

When flying with low-cost airlines, the boarding pass usually does not indicate the seat number, but the type of boarding is indicated if the passenger has paid for priority boarding.

Airlines often provide the option of obtaining a boarding pass at the airport at the check-in counter or by checking in online and then printing the boarding pass on a regular A4 sheet.

Please note that some airlines charge a fee to print your boarding pass at the airport.

Many airports have self-check-in machines in the check-in area. You can enter your details and e-ticket number and receive a printed version of your boarding pass.

The methods for printing your boarding pass are listed above. They can print it out for you at the airport check-in counter or self-check-in kiosk, or you can do it at home by printing your boarding pass.

If you checked in online, you most likely saved a file with your boarding pass on your computer or in your email. Thus, you can restore your boarding pass by simply reprinting the file. If you checked in at the airport, then you will not be able to restore your boarding pass form.

Some airlines allow you to check in online and send an electronic boarding pass to the passenger's phone.

The screen of a mobile device with such an electronic boarding pass must be attached to the scanner at the airport. Please note that the ability to receive an electronic boarding pass does not mean that you will be able to board the plane with it. At some airports, passengers are required to go to the check-in counter and receive a regular paper boarding pass.

Vacation, trip to the sea or to the mountains, on an excursion tour or just to visit loved ones in another city. Very often, in order to get to the right place, air travel is used, which requires not only the financial costs of purchasing a ticket, but also knowledge of certain formalities and new rules for boarding the plane.

Any air travel requires mandatory registration for the flight, which indicates the passenger’s continued intention to fly on the chosen flight. Registration can be carried out in two forms: online and directly at the airport.

Online registration

This form provides for the remote preliminary possibility of obtaining a boarding pass. As a rule, each airline has its own time period during which remote check-in begins. Usually - 48 hours before departure time. It also ends a little earlier than the usual procedure at the airport - on average, 3 hours before departure.

Interesting! Depending on the airline and fare selected, you may be given the option to select your seat during online check-in. However, when checking in for low-cost airline flights, this service is often charged separately.

Online check-in is not mandatory, so if a seat in the cabin is not so important for a passenger or it is not possible to use the Internet at the specified time, then you can always do all the procedures directly at the airport.

Boarding pass

Any check-in must result in the receipt of a boarding pass. Anyone who registered online receives this document, equipped with a barcode and/or QR code, to the resource that was specified during the registration process. This could be a phone number, then all the necessary information will be sent via SMS, another option is email.

What to do with an electronic boarding pass?

Until recently, after receiving a ticket, the passenger had several options for action.

  1. Independently print out the coupon and present it at the airport;
  2. Printing out a coupon at self-service counters located at airports in major cities;
  3. Presentation of the electronic version of the coupon at the registration desk, after which the traditional paper version was issued.

And it was the paper boarding pass that was the basis for entering the sanitary area and further boarding the plane.

This technology had a number of disadvantages, the most important of which was additional red tape at the airport. Moreover, if the self-service counter does not take a lot of a person’s time, then standing in the general check-in queue makes the electronic process almost meaningless, except for selecting a seat, and requires an advance arrival at the airport.

Taking this into account, the Russian Ministry of Transport adopted new rules for boarding an airplane.

Rules for boarding a plane from February 24, 2020

The innovations, which are spelled out in the Order of the Ministry of Transport, registered on February 14, are aimed at eliminating the need to have a paper version of the boarding pass. Now, to board a plane, you only need to present your electronic boarding pass.

Thus, to board a flight, an air passenger has the right to present for pre-flight inspection:

  • A regular paper version of the coupon or;
  • Electronic boarding pass or;
  • Coupon in the form of a barcode.

To depart from any Russian airport you can now present an electronic boarding pass.

However, it is worth remembering that the smooth operation of any system, especially a technologically complex one, requires a certain amount of time. In the case of electronic boarding passes, each airport will have to equip its boarding gates with special electronic turnstiles or the latest readers that can scan the presented barcode or QR code. The reading procedure itself involves the creation of a virtual mark about the passenger’s appearance for the flight - an analogue of the current print on paper.

Therefore, when checking in, it is worth checking with the carrier airline whether it is possible to present an electronic version of the coupon at the departure airport.

The airline is responsible for informing passengers about the possibility of boarding a flight under the new rules via eGate.

The carrier can inform the passenger either on its website or directly at the airport building.

Benefits of an electronic boarding pass

  • Simplification of the registration procedure

Eliminating the need to print out a ticket will save time required to go through the procedure at the airport. The opportunity will be especially appreciated in those air harbors where there are still no self-service counters.

However, not everyone will be able to take advantage of this benefit. If a passenger needs to check in luggage, i.e. a bag or suitcase that cannot be transported in the passenger cabin of the aircraft, then in any case he will have to go through registration procedures at the airport terminal building or special terminals equipped in large cities.

Among those who will also need a paper version, despite the new rules for boarding the plane, are business travel allowances. Unfortunately, most companies still require a boarding pass with the appropriate stamps to complete the advance report.

  • No additional financial costs

A number of low-cost airlines now charge an additional fee for printing a boarding pass; new rules will allow you to avoid such expenses.

  • Additional peace of mind for passengers

At large airports, many first-time passengers have to struggle to find a suitable check-in counter or self-service kiosk. Another nervous factor is the risk of losing your paper boarding pass.

Disadvantages of an electronic boarding pass

  • The need to maintain sufficient battery charge

If you board a flight under the new rules, proof of registration will be a mobile device, from the screen of which you will read the code. However, if the gadget is discharged at the time of landing, you will have to urgently proceed to regular check-in, which, as a rule, ends 40 minutes before departure.

Which airports are ready to accept passengers with an electronic boarding pass?

At the time of writing this article, airports in Ufa, Moscow and Moscow declare this possibility. In the near future, it is planned to launch similar functionality in and

The large Russian airline Aeroflot carries out passenger transportation on domestic and international routes. Extensive experience and a solid reputation attract many passengers traveling to different countries of the world on business and tourist routes.

Those who often fly on Aeroflot planes have long been aware of all the principles of pre-flight procedures and the possibility of checking in for a flight. We have prepared educational information for novice travelers. In our article we will tell you how to check in for an Aeroflot flight at the airport and on the Internet, how to print out your boarding pass and what to do if your pass is lost.

Aeroflot ticket registration at the airport

For many decades, the only way to check in for a flight was to issue a boarding pass directly at the airport near a special counter. With the advent of new technologies, the air carrier has introduced new check-in methods for passengers, involving the use of the World Wide Web.

Advanced users are happy to check-in for an Aeroflot plane through the carrier’s website or mobile application. But despite the many advantages of online check-in, many passengers still prefer to check-in for a plane in the traditional way at the departure airport.

The passenger should arrive at the airport in advance. There are always queues at the check-in counter for economy class passengers, so you won’t be able to go through this procedure quickly.

Passengers who have an air ticket in their hands undergo priority check-in at a special counter where there are no long queues.

How to check in at the airport for an Aeroflot plane:

  • there is an electronic display in the airport building, on it you need to look up information about the number of Aeroflot check-in counters for the flight according to the purchased tickets;
  • Having proceeded to the place of registration, we take a turn and wait for ours;
  • the passenger presents the airline employee with his personal passport and air ticket;
  • the specialist verifies the data and asks you to choose a seat in the cabin from the available options;
  • then the employee marks the seat indicated by the passenger and prints out the boarding pass;
  • With this document, the passenger goes to the counter, where luggage is accepted into the cargo compartment of the aircraft, and then goes through other necessary pre-flight procedures (customs, passport control).

At Sheremetyevo Airport, you can check in for an Aeroflot plane in terminals F, D, E (depending on the direction). Registration ends 40 minutes before the plane departs. If a passenger does not make it to the registration procedure in time, he will not be able to board the plane.

How to register a flight ticket online step by step

The most convenient way to check in for an Aeroflot plane is online through the carrier’s official website. This procedure is not difficult to complete; even a beginner can quickly cope with this task!

How to check in online for an Aeroflot plane:

  1. On the company’s website, find the “Online Services” section and select the “Online Registration” tab. You can go to this page by clicking the button with the mouse.
  2. Be sure to study the registration rules on the site, and then check the “I agree to the terms” line. To proceed to the next step, click the “Next” button.
  3. In a new window, columns will appear for entering the passenger’s full name and number indicated in the itinerary receipt. Enter this data and click “Continue”.
  4. Now information with a brief reminder about the list of items prohibited for transportation will appear on the screen. After reviewing this information, click on the “Continue registration” button.
  5. The next step is choosing a seat in the cabin from the available options. A map with a diagram of the salon will appear on the screen, where free and occupied seats will be marked. Select the appropriate option in one click.
  6. Next, click the “Check-in” button and proceed to printing your boarding pass.

The registration procedure on the Aeroflot airline website opens 24 hours before flight departure and ends 45 minutes. You will have enough time to understand this simple scheme and go through the pre-flight procedure in a comfortable manner. Having your boarding pass in hand, received after such registration, you will not have to stand in long lines at the airport counter. With this document, you can immediately proceed to baggage check-in and other pre-flight procedures.

How to get an Aeroflot boarding pass

A boarding pass is a mandatory document, without which a passenger will not be able to check in luggage and board the plane. Be sure to print it out after registering online!

The Aeroflot boarding pass will be sent to the passenger’s email address specified when filling out the form. You will need a printer to print. If such a device is not available, save the electronic document data to a flash card. You can print a coupon from an electronic medium in any salon.

Ways to print your boarding pass:

  1. At the self-service terminal, where you can also go through the entire registration procedure.
  2. Near the check-in counter after checking out online. The specialist will quickly print out the ticket, making sure that the passenger has already completed the registration procedure on the website and entered all the necessary data.
  3. On a printer on a regular A4 sheet immediately after registering online by clicking the “Print” button.

How to use your mobile boarding pass

Mobile device users can download a special mobile application to their phone that allows them to quickly check in for a plane. The principle of document execution is identical to the method of registering online on the website.

After registering through the mobile application, the passenger will receive a barcode. It must be brought to the scanner of the self-service terminal at the airport. The equipment quickly recognizes the specified information from the barcode and prints out the boarding pass.

Conditions for check-in for Aeroflot flights through the mobile application:

  1. This check-in method is not used at all airports. First, the passenger needs to check whether the airport of departure is included in the list where mobile check-in for the flight is allowed.
  2. Passengers, minor children, travelers or guardians, as well as disabled people whose flight includes additional services cannot register through the mobile application.
  3. This method of completing the pre-flight procedure is also not suitable for passengers carrying non-standard baggage or valuable cargo.

Mobile check-in opens one day before the plane's departure and ends 45 minutes.

What to do if you lost your boarding pass

The boarding pass confirms the passenger's right to receive the services of the selected airline and the flight. In the absence of this document, the passenger will not be allowed on board.

If a traveler loses their boarding pass, they need to get it restored. This can be done at the airport near the check-in counter. Explain your problem to the airline employee by presenting your identification documents. The specialist will check the information provided and quickly print out a new boarding pass.

If a traveler discovers the loss immediately before departure, when the check-in time for the flight has already expired, he will not be able to continue his air travel on the previously booked flight. The employee will offer a flight on another plane flying in a similar direction, or will issue a refund of the ticket with compensation for the money spent. The money will be transferred to the recipient's account, but not in full, but with the deduction of interest on some fees.

Your boarding pass may also be lost after air travel. Business passengers need such a document for reporting to the accounting department. You can restore it at the airline office by writing an application requesting a duplicate. You will have to pay for this service according to the carrier's tariffs.

If you checked in online, your boarding pass will be saved in your email and can be quickly reprinted.

Aeroflot airline creates the best conditions for passengers choosing a reliable carrier for air travel to various destinations. If you have any problems with the documents issued for travel, do not hesitate to contact the company’s employees by phone or in person at an Aeroflot stationary office.
