How to get to Jyväskyli
The most convenient way to get from Moscow to Jyväskyli is by plane. There are no direct flights; Aeroflot and Finnair offer a short transfer to Helsinki. The heart of the city is considered to be the long and narrow Kauppakatu (Torgovaya) street. It was built on the site of an old highway along which merchants actively traded. Modern Kauppakatu starts from the university campus, goes to the Church Park, becomes pedestrianized there and ends at the main square of the city of Are. Of particular interest is the interior decoration of the church, made entirely by local craftsmen: carved pulpits, chandeliers, benches and much more. In the 30s of the last century, restoration work was carried out in the church using local traditional technologies.
