In honor of the 35th anniversary of the Leningrad rock club and the 15th anniversary of Our Radio St. Petersburg

In 2016, we celebrate two remarkable events in the cultural life of St. Petersburg: 35 years of the Leningrad Rock Club and 15 years of the radio station Nashe Radio - St. Petersburg. These events are closely related.

The Leningrad rock club gave a stage, an audience and freedom of creativity to dozens of now cult groups. Rock music became a symbol of what was happening in the country in the 80s and 90s. democratic transformations. As the music of change, rock influenced the development of all spheres of national culture: literature, cinema, theater, and fine arts. Continuing the traditions of the Leningrad Rock Club, OUR Radio opens up new names and gives the freedom to listen to your favorite music anywhere and at any time.

The festival “OURS IN THE CITY” dates back to 2002, and this year for the first time it will go beyond the scope of a musical event and will become a truly large-scale event in the cultural life of the city.

On June 4th from 13:00 on Palace Square there will be a variety of venues that will allow festival guests to plunge into the atmosphere of those years when Russian rock music arose as a phenomenon. The main characters and researchers of the era will talk about the most important cultural processes and events that took place during that eventful time; you will be able to take a tour of the rock club museum recreated right on the square, see rare photographs, hear performances by poets and writers; images of real “informals” will be created by professional stylists.

In the evening, on the stage of the festival “OURS IN THE CITY. Music of Freedom" will feature legendary musicians who, thirty-five years ago, were not afraid to go against the grain - those whose songs are heard daily on the radio station NASHE Radio. DDT, PICNIC, AIR. The special guest of the festival will be the Symphonic KINO project - and an invaluable collection of the most popular songs of the Kino group, without which the Leningrad Rock Club is unthinkable, will be performed on Palace Square, accompanied by a large symphony orchestra and the iconic guitar of Yuri Kasparyan! Thirty-five years later, they still believe that rock and roll can change the world!

The festival is held with the support of the Presidential Center B.N. Yeltsin" (Yeltsin Center), the educational project "Your History" and the Committee for Culture of St. Petersburg.

The official partner of the festival is the LSR group.

The group "DDT" is a Soviet and Russian legendary rock band, founded in 1980 in Ufa. The leader of the group and the author of most of the songs is Yuri Shevchuk, who has become a symbol of justice and a powerful charge of energy for millions of his fans.

The group "PIKNIK" is a Russian rock band founded in 1978, although its members believe that a professional and full-fledged team was formed in 1981, when Edmund Shklyarsky became the leader of the group. The group's music, rooted in Russian rock, has progressed into an original, unusual style characterized by the use of symphonic, keyboard and exotic folk instruments.

The AVIA group is a vocal and instrumental ensemble, famous for its original theatrical stage productions since the late 80s. In a golden lineup under the leadership of Anton Adasinsky, the group carefully recreates the atmosphere of grandiose AIR shows with such iconic elements as the physical training group named after. “AVIA” and brass section.
