Get to Sergiev Posad by bus.
Sergiev Posad is located in the northeast of the Moscow region, sixty kilometers from Moscow. Transport links with Moscow are good, so you can get there and back without any problems. By electric train from the Yaroslavsky station (Komsomolskaya metro station, Three Station Square), by bus No. 388 (from the VDNKh metro station) or by personal transport. Get to Sergiev Posad by bus:
Buses of route No. 388 "Sergiev Posad - Moscow" run every 10-15 minutes from the VDNH metro station in Moscow to the bus (railway) station in Sergiev Posad. The return route is similar.
Bus fare Moscow VDNKh - Sergiev Posad: 200 rubles. With the Strelka card 160 rubles.
In Moscow, tickets are sold by the conductor immediately before departure; in Sergiev Posad, there is a separate ticket office right at the stop where passengers board.
In Moscow, bus number 388 leaves from st. Kosmonavtov, 2A. VDNH metro station - exit to the All-Russian Exhibition Center (the first car from the center). From the metro, turn right into the underground passage through Prospekt Mira. From the crossing to the right, at the traffic light we cross the road and on the left there is a bus stop. If you take the metro into the last car from the center (exit from the metro to the Cosmos Hotel) in the underground lobby of glass doors, go to the right, then exit to the city to the left. (numbers on the map) after 100 meters at the traffic light we cross the road, there is a bus stop on the right.
Travel time is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. Some buses call at Khotkovo (1 bus per hour, see schedule), which increases travel time by 15-20 minutes. Travel time also depends on traffic congestion. If there are no traffic jams, you can get there in less than an hour and a half, otherwise the journey can take three hours, so during rush hours it is better to take the train.

To return from Sergiev Posad by bus No. 388, you need to buy a ticket at the ticket office next to the Bus Station building at the bus boarding point. They leave quite regularly, but you should remember that the last bus leaves at 21:00.

Despite the fact that buses passing through Khotkovo increase travel time by 15 minutes, there are no traffic jams on this road. Having spent a little more time on the trip, you will pass through some of the most picturesque places in the Sergiev Posad region - the villages and past (to the right of the road when approaching the railway overpass). By the way, bus No. 388, passing through Khotkovo, is one of the easiest ways to get to Radonezh in the absence of personal transport, since the railway platform of the same name is located quite far from the village.
Get to Sergiev Posad by train:
Electric trains to the Sergiev Posad station depart from the Yaroslavsky railway station in Moscow at intervals of 20-30 minutes. On weekdays there is a two-hour break during the day (see train schedule). The station in Moscow can be reached by metro to the Komsomolskaya station, exit to the Leningradsky and Yaroslavsky railway stations.

From the Yaroslavsky railway station to the Sergiev Posad station you can get by trains following the route Moscow - Sergiev Posad, Moscow - Alexandrov, Moscow - Balakirevo. They all stop in Sergiev Posad, where there is only one railway station. Travel time averages 1 hour 27 minutes.
In addition to suburban trains, you can get to Sergiev Posad by express trains following the routes: Moscow - Sergiev Posad, Moscow - Alexandrov, Moscow - Yaroslavl. The travel time by express will be exactly 1 hour.
How to get to Sergiev Posad by car:
From the center of Moscow you need to get to Prospekt Mira - this is a direct road to Sergiev Posad. Interchange 94 km MKAD - Yaroslavskoe highway (road M8 "Kholmogory"). Continue along the M8 road for about 45 km until the turn to Sergiev Posad (exit from the left lane at the sign "Sergiev Posad", the M8 road goes to the right). The city is less than 10 km away. The central street of Sergiev Posad is Red Army Avenue, it runs through the entire city from south to north. Trinity-Sergius Lavra in the city center. If the roads are clear, the travel time is a little over an hour.

From Sergiev Posad you can directly get by bus to Moscow, Pereslavl Zalessky (Yaroslavl region) and Kalyazin (Tver region), with a transfer in Khotkovo - to Dmitrov; Moscow-Kostroma, Moscow-Moscow buses also call at the Sergiev Posad bus station to pick up passengers. Rybinsk, the Moscow-Yaroslavl bus passes through the Toporkovo stop.
